The best way to carry a suit when traveling is in a garment travel bag. But if you don't have one available, the next best thing is to fold the suit and carry it in your suitcase. Here is how to properly fold a coat for travel, so that it's outer cloth is protected from friction while packed away...

1. With the coat facing toward you, place each hand in a shoulder.
2. Turn the shoulders in towards each other.
3. Revearse one shoulder neatly over the other, turning the suit inside out from one shoulder.
4. Unfold the coat lapels and align them.
5. Smooth down, and fold in half.
